Signs of the Time

This morning, I started out looking for signs of the time in Ashland.

There are so many places to go from here…

The doors are closed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We hope they’ll be able to re-open this Fall…

Does art work ever really stop? It seems like the creative process is always moving…

When I see a path ahead, I always want to go faster! If I’m on my bike, the urge to ride fast is irresistible…

There are quiet “rebels” at a popular coffee house. The owners have conveniently left the usual chairs and tables out front for their “take out” customers.

Just around the corner, a mother and her child are out for a walk…

I imagine her saying, “What does the future hold for us, little one?”

In the next block, is the sign of our times…

For Americans, this is not a sign we’re used to embracing… But, what does our currently required stopping time offer us? What might we learn about ourselves? What about our country? What will we want to do differently?

Thanks for joining me on my walks!

I hope you’ll join me again for my morning glimpses.  I promise to fill them with beauty and to keep the narrative blessedly short.

Until the next time…

Grace and peace to you,

Art Mills

  2. I am really enjoying your documentation of your walks. I’m recovering from my latest round of breaking bones but am not very mobile. What was the coffee shop you were outside of?
