MEANDERING DOWNTOWN

On one of our rare January sunny days, I was wandering down by the river that borders the southern edge of downtown.

The County Courthouse occupies a square block not far away… It is the location for all of the contemporary protests about our endangered American democracy.

Without towering over the city, the Courthouse quietly reminds us that our Constitution governs how our country runs…

It is the place where the rule of law is decided upon in courtrooms where the truth must be spoken and deliberated upon.

Standing quietly by a fence…

There are gardeners everywhere!

It looks like a bit of rustic public art.

But it always just calls out, “Hey, climb me!”

Flying South for the Winter…

“Hey Bob! We’re going this way, not back up north!”  “Psst… Maybe he’s directionally challenged.

The influence of the University is everywhere in the community.

“Now that’s my kind of class!”
