A Slower Pace

I usually stroll when taking pictures. This morning, I feel like a slower pace.

I catch up with these characters right outside our front door.

Turtles? I’m still looking for them.

Today’s walk is a delight! Things and people seem to appear out of nowhere!

Like this rusty garden cow...

Down the road, I hear a chorus of greetings, “Good morning, Mail Carrier! We love the U.S. Postal Service…”

Closer to the park, I run into this gang of breakfast thieves… “Who, Me?”

A hose rack, reaching out to the faucet…

I imagine roses in the midst of a chess match…

With a slower pace, I stop to talk with people on the street, out for their early morning strolls. It is refreshing, restorative, and then we each go on our way…

My morning walk ends with this sustainer – ready to share its water with a thirsty plant – and, I wonder, “How will I be a sustainer today?”

Thanks for joining me!

I hope you’ll join me again for my morning glimpses.  I promise to fill them with beauty and to keep the narrative blessedly short.

Until the next time…

Grace and peace to you,

Art Mills

  1. Good morning Art. Near your house is a wonderful path called the ditch trail. I walk there often with my dog Taisha. As I walk the trail I often find what I call ditch trail delights – usually imaginative and colorful painted stones placed in crevices and nooks by an anonymous and playful
creative person for others to enjoy. You, my friend, are like those stones. Always bringing a smile and reminding us that blessings are there if we look. Such a lovely gift. Thank you😌
