This morning, as I walk from the bottom of Helman Street, back into downtown, I feel like I’m moving through time.

Helman school is filled with artwork, including this fire breather.

A bicyclist rides through the early morning quiet…

Resting at the side of the road is a remnant of our agricultural past…
Moving to the edge of downtown…

I greet a jay who is playing peekaboo… “Good morning, Mr. Jay!”
Eventually, I meet a friend, Kat, who is working on a small piece of sculpture…

Concentration…

Artist’s hands…

Joyfully at work!
Kat is sitting outside a small shop on 4th street, next to Noble Coffee…

Inside, among her other works, is “Deer Woman Mask…”
Thanks for joining me!
I hope you’ll join me again for my morning glimpses. I promise to fill them with beauty and to keep the narrative blessedly short.
Until the next time…
Grace and peace to you,
Art Mills
