With Fall Departing

This morning, it is apparent that nature is getting ready for winter. Everywhere I look, there are signs of this, and I pause to say goodbye to the season.

At the peak of their autumnal brilliance, the last leaves prepare to fall…

“Hey! Where are all the bugs?”

Gone south for the winter?

I linger to take in the story…

Moving down the hill, with an agitated gobble…

Everything quiet, in anticipation of the cold ahead… The deciduous trees point to the coming winter days. Yet, in their quietude, they point also to the prospect of spring…

Thanks for joining me again for my morning glimpses.  I promise to fill them with beauty and to keep the narrative blessedly short.

Until the next time…

Grace, peace to you,

Art Mills

  1. Dear Art, Looks like u r well and still moving about. We are well and pretty much isolated here in MA. My work goes well but is strange b/c I do all of my work by Zoom. The faculty and U are coming along. Still trying to restore trust between the trustees and faculty. Interesting work. Be well. Roy

    1. Hi Roy… Yes, I’m well and still moving around. Funny, but this particular set of pictures came from one of my shortest walks! Glad to hear that it’s going well in MA… A major endeavor, but you’re exactly the right person to lead that kind of rebuilding.
