This Christmas Eve is a particularly unsettling one, with chaos, bigotry, and violence awash in our world. I reached back to an image of a lone mallard paddling in a cold pond a few winters back. It was February 1st in Ashland, Oregon and somehow there was no ice on the pond.

The mallard was just swimming peacefully ahead in the water, leaving an image of beauty in his wake. Little did he know that his solitary journey offered me a moment of tranquility.
Whoever we are, whatever our traditions, wherever we are, we have within us an inclination for peace and the capacity to act on that inclination, perhaps unknowingly.
My heartfelt prayer is that we may each one be inspired to bring a measure of love and peace to the somber world we see today.
To each one, I wish you good tidings of joy, and a heart sufficiently filled to share that joy in any way you can…
Grace, Peace, and Love to you,
Art
